DVI and HDMI transfer video data in an identical manner, in a digital format. The only difference is that HDMI also transfers audio through the same cable. Component cables transfer data in an analog format. Below is the heirachy in order of quality best to worst:

1. DVI or HDMI
2. Component
3. S-Video
4. Composite (thru RCA connections)

And link for fun.

They will both offer the same video quality. Buying an HDMI cable will be just a waste of money

The only reason to use an HDMI cable with this card, is if you have SPDIF plugged into it, and are running the sound to your TV or a stereo. Even then, you're just saving cable clutter, or freeing up a port on your stereo

Wrong.

OH!

In that case... I already have DVI... no point in spending the extras on HDMI rihgt? I mean if saving a few bucks means having 1 little cable extra.... I am way fine with that!
