Had some questions for those who are running the radiator on the top of the case:
1. Is anyone running fans on the back and the front of the radiator? (wondering if it will fit)
2. Doesn't exhausting the heat from the radiator shoot hot air down into the case?

Sorry completely new at water cooling and I just found a rocketfish at my local best buy today.

it depends which type of radiator and fan you will use

EX. if youre using a thermochill PA series you can only use fan which are having 25mm in thickness

( youre not able to use 38mm or double 25mm -sandwinch)

but if you using HW labs black ice pro or stealth series radiator you can sandwich the radiator by two 25mm thick fan,

always keep in mind the direction of hot air " it always going up" so I advice you to install the
fan direction shooting up side towards the radiator and exhaust vent .

my thermochill PA120.3 was installed now Im working on my 480's installation

Wouldn't that mean you are now exhausting hot air through the radiator keeping the water relatively warm?

basically ya....
It's not really the ideal setup BUT if you have some decent fans feeding cool air to the internals the difference can be negligable.

Also....there's noone stopping you from putting fans on the top of that rad creating a push-pull

Personally speaking....If I has to go with a top mount rad like that I would do push-pull, pulling the cooler air through the rad into the case with all other case fans exhausting.

Hello everyone.

I just purchased this case a few weeks ago off ebay for 95 shipped (Expensive but after going to 3 BB and calling over 10 in my area, that was my only choice)

Regardless, the case I got did not come with any MB standoffs or MB screws.

I purchased a few and had a few on hand (6/32 brass stand offs in both 3mm and 5mm) but they do not seem to thread onto the motherboard tray.

Do these use 5/32 standoffs? Does anyone have 9 extra (willing to pay) or would the Lian Li accessory kit (has standoffs and other various screws work with this case?)

Thank you all.

great pick shows exactly what i wanted to see, just noticed it.

I already had the Scythe Hard Disk Stablilizer II kit and they did not work in my cm 690 nor my p182b due to the slots. I still may buy the Lian Li EX-33 to store the hard drives but I'll def try this first.

Going to post pics later. Waiting for the camera battery to charge. Completely stripped the case a few hours ago. Still not going to mod. Need to buy a dremel and a jigsaw.

Plans later...

Took mah new case all apart. Getting ready to hack her all up.

Plan is too get a RadGrillz™ Stripes 3x120 Aluminum Black ACR-RG35296 - 3 fans on top of case....
RadGrillz

Then get a Lian-Li EX-33 Internal HDD Rack - Black Lian-Li EX-33

I took out the hard drive holders. May add some fans on the bottom not to sure yet. Took out the 3.5 bay. Going to cut that and add another 120mm in the front. I gotta say this case is freakin huge! The only downfall as you can see is that the back has no room for any thick wires. It look like I may get away with just the fan wires and some sata cables. Got to sleeve a ton of wires. Luckily my poo brown Noctua's are already sleeved. lol

My plan for the motherboard is to cut out some holes for wiring, duh, . Also thinking about cutting out right behind the heatsink to make life easier there. This is going to be my first time using a dremel and a jigsaw so this should be interesting. I've been taking a lot of notes and see a lot of great ideas. Going to see how the cutting goes on top and then may even add a side window.

Project so far. Probably not going to be able to cut anything for another week due to work but we'll see and i'll probably do a build log too.

Going to be buying two 4850's and a Gigabyte X48 board so I am building this case around that.

i'm really contemplating drilling the rivets for the motherboard tray and moving it just a little in. still looking it over just trying to get some more space behind the tray. i'm sure i can get it to work I know i have to move the whole piece over and possibly lose the 120mm in the back. we'll see trying to get some ideas out there. going to take my time on this. i've built 3 computers in the past year and really want to try out some hardcore modding, lol.
