Worth getting?????

Would getting an E6750 and an Asus 780i Deluxe be beneficial at this point? These boards seems to overclock dual cores well. I really don't want to spend more than $200 for a cpu. I do need it to last me for awhile. I have spent to much on my two rigs as it is. The only reason for not going to an Intel chipset= no sli support. What do you guys think?

I just finished my first build, and it has an e6750, and I'm very happy with it.
It's very sweet imo.

With the Wolfdales out, I was wondering if it made sense to get the E6750. I don't want to spend the money, but I will if I have too. If getting a Wolfdale will keep me from having to upgrade anytime soon.
Does it bench better than the E6750 at the same speed? I think ocing the E6750 to 3.8 would be good enough. What do you guys think?

I have used this CPU in eight builds, i've never overclocked it so cannot comment on it... but it's a great processor.... tbh i even think it better that the Q6600 im probably the only person in the world that would say that but yeah lol

wolfdales are sensitive to voltage increases, although they overclock very very well.

the conroes aren't that sensitive to voltage and overclock well but not as well as the wolfdales.

I personally would recommend getting a Q6600.
