Dell Vostro 200

Thread Starter
Has anyone had this? I know its new, but someone might have it. Im looking for a computer that i can depend on. Im tired of buying and building my own. I can upgrade the graphics card to a 8600gt, the only games i play is counter strike source and day of defeat source. I dont really play any other games than that. It looks like a good computer for my needs. What about overclocking? Well, im not an overclocker. Only did it once, and didnt really care for it. It comes with a 20" flatscreen monitor, i got some 19" one thats not so great, so it beats everything i got right now. Looking to settle down in something that can last me a LONG time, about 3-5 years

1. You will pay MUCH MUCH more for a dell POS then if you built it.
2. no you can't OC a dell OEM
3. You could upgrade, but i don't know if the PSU would like an 8600
4. you get the dell crap case with horrible cooling
my mom has a Vostro 400, she paid $1000, i could have built the same thing for about half the price.

The reason your old machine didn't last too long is because you used crappy parts.

What's your budget? We'll build you a kick-ass rig that will beat the crap out of any Dell for half the cost.

I got about a -$1000 budget, If I had to get anything, i would probably get, Core 2 Duo E4500, GIGABYTE P35-DS3L Mobo, 2x1GB Corsair XMS2, Antec Earthwatts 500w, And an ThermalTake Armor case. Im in a very desperate need of getting a new monitor aswell. The one i got is a 19" dell, but its not lcd, it takes up 1/3 of my desk lol

upgrade the GA-P35-DS3 to the DS4. It has mossfet cooling, and in another thread, some one's caught on electrical fire. I just got the DS4. Very solid. But they all look like good choices. Don't be afraid to bargain hunt either.
