HDD question: 32mb vs 16mb cache? - Page 2

Depends on what's using the cache I assume. Like an old Morrowind game, compared to Crysis, it may be rather substantial.

I recently upgraded from Seagate 250gb w/16 cache to 250gb w/32 cache. I've noticed Cysis loads much quicker with this new drive.

Are there other differences between the drives?

I could go from one of the original 250GB seagate 7200.10s with 16MB of cache, to one of the 310AS 7200.10 250GB segate drives with half the cache and still get a noticeable perfromance improvement.

If anything significant besides cache size is different, it's hard to make an accurate comparison.
