7600GT cooler. **UPDATE**

Thread Starter
I need a cooler that fits a 7600GT. Ive been reading a lot of reviews and such but I just cant make up my mind. Budget is 30$ shipped.
7600 owners please help me find one that fits and cools well.

**UPDATE 3-24-08**

The ARCTIC COOLING Accelero S2 came today and I was shocked when I opened the package. I could tell it wasn't going to fit just by looking at it but i decided to see how it lined up anyway. After fiddling with it for a few seconds it was obvious the mounting area on the cooler was far too small for my 7600GT. :swearing::swearing:
So I went to my neighbors house and grabbed up the X800GTO I sold them. Took off the Zalman VF700AlCu and started setting up the S2 for installation on this card. It fit perfectly on the X800GTO AGP and cooling was better than stock without a fan installed. Now it was time to see if the Zalman VF700AlCu was going to fit on my 7600GT. The Zalman installed perfectly using the outer holes on the brackets and cooling was amazing, 30C idle (34C on stock fan until it died) and 34C loaded (45C stock) on ATI Tool. Turns out I should have grabbed the Zalman again.

A VF700-CU does a decent job, and includes ramsinks.
VF700-CU for $23.99

i vote for the accelero S2. I had one, and it was perfect. 25C IDLE!!! and that's with no fan. You can get one for ~$20.

actually, upon further checking, it's $17 at the egg right now.
Accelero S2
and it's ~$23 SHIPPED!

Any of you guys use it on a 7600GT ... ??? A couple of reviews scared me away from the ZALMAN VF700-CU

And actually was lookin at ARCTIC COOLING ACCELS1 Rev 2

These 2 where my top picks. Was looking for some feedback from someone who has used one on a 7600

What reviews you looking at? Newegg ones? Don't bother with them, most of the people that actually review the product they bought are complete idiots, (exclude OCN members). Actually read a review on a reputable site.

nvm, i stand corrected, but seriously, With my 7600GT, the stock HSF was around 40C idle and noisy. I got the Accelero S2 ($16.99) and i went all the way to 25C idle.

Both are good choices.

You could get the S2 for $16.99 and then get some ramsinks for it for cheap. I would couple the S2 with a 120mm fan for a couple of bux too.....

@stumped - Thanks, good to know the S2 should fit as well. You used Rev1 then?
