Dell 30" 3008WFP or Gateway 30" XHD3000

I was wondering which of these two monitors are more worth buying if worth buying at all? I mostly want a monitor that I can use my PS3 (HDMI), Xbox 360 (Component), Wii (Composite), MacBook (VGA) and my PC (DVI).

I was thinking about the Dell and Gateway 24" monitors but I decided I would rather have a 30" monitor that I can have double as a 1080p HDTV.

Both are still overpriced in my opinion. What if you wait a little longer and see if the prices will drop.. Currently, DELL had just reduced their 3008WFP by $50. Who knows what they might do 4 months from now??

I don't plan on buying a new monitor for 2-3 months anyways. I just am looking into it a head of time.

I agree with yahon, Wait a few months see what Dell does to that price. And gateway will probably drop theirs too to compete.

If you don't care about the price, the DELL 3008WFP is obviously the BEST choice that money can buy. It has a 3000:1 contrast ration, 110% Color Gamut (If I am not mistaken) and nicer body (Aluminum). Both of them had a scaling chip built in, so they don't really have any problem in scaling lower resolution graphics, unlike the DELL 3007WFP-HC that I am using now..

The gateway did catch my eye though because it is missing a DVI port and the Display port, but I love how it has built in Audio in and out and it also comes with a remote for the monitor which would actually be very convenient.

What the gateway lacks it makes up in some other features. However, my friend who has a Gateway 30' display told me that the AUDIO from that monitor really SUCKS.. He told me that you should not really depend on that monitor's audio if you want to have a happy hearing experience. As for the remote control, that is a real nice and neat feature for Gateway to have. Imagine buying a $2000 DELL 3008WFP only to find out that it has everything except remote control?? That would be funny. But still, DELL 3008WFP has tons of features that outweigh its lack of remote control.

As for me, I am happy with my DELL 3007WFP-HC as I am only plugging it to my PC..

Hmm... well that puts a damper on things. Is your friend talking about the audio straight out of the monitor? What I was planning on doing is having the audio run into the monitor so I don't have wires running all over the place and then using the the digital optical out port to run into my sound card and playing the audio through that since my PC is already on 24/7 as it is. I don't have the highest demand for features, but I do want as good a picture as I can get if I am going to spend so much on a monitor, especially for my video game consoles/ blu-ray player (PS3). Would you happen to have any pictures of your 30"? I have seen few actually set up and what not.

Oh ya, I was talking about AUDIO straight out of the monitor. Sorry for my misunderstanding. But believe me, the AUDIO that came straight from the monitor really SUCKS!!
As far as picture quality is concerned, I think that you are WAY better of with DELL 3008WFP as it has superior picture specs altogether, not to mention faster response time too. Also, I think that DELL 3008WFP has a much better monitor stand the GATEWAY.
Here is a picture of my 3007WFP-HC. One thing to note about 30' monitors is that they are HUGE!! They are way BIGGER than a typical 20' monitor. Make sure you have ample deskspace.
