Lapping is taking different grits of sandpaper (200, 400, 800, 1000, 2000) and sanding down the base of the heatsink (or cpu) and makiing it truly flat so that it makes good contact.

If you can't get the TRUE, get the Tuniq.
Ive had both. I must say that the TRUE was better than the Tuniq, but the Tuniq if you can't get a TRUE is a safe bet. I agree with DJ

Scan.co.uk sells the TRUE... also if you join this forum you can be entitled to free deilivery while staying an active member. (not swaying people away from ocn, this is scans forum and its thier offer)

They also sells the thermalright ultima 90 which is slighty better than the tuniq and also very lightweight.

The tuniq is the only thing that comes close, although its bigger and takes up much more space, so the rest of your components and ambient temps might see a small difference. Im happy with my TRUE look how cute it is!!!

im running a IFX-14 and im getting 56c on 1.5v which is alot cooler than my zalman 9700 that hit 65c on 1.45v i will be lapping this aswell soon to match my q6600 si the temps should be even lower, if you do go IFX-14 just be aware that it comes with the HR-10 which is a backside cooler when i get my case sorted im gonna have to bend the HR-10 to fit in
