Problems OCing Bad Axe 2

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I am really new to overclocking so these questions may be basic. I picked up a temporary board that I will be replacing soon, the board is an Intel Bad Axe 2. I'll be replacing it with an Asus Maximus soon. I tried to overclock with a Q6600 and OCZ Sli ready RAM (8gig) but any slight mod to the FSB of the chip prevents me from booting (I disabled watchdog, etc). This brings me to my n00b question. What effect does the mobo FSB rating have on the overclocking ability of the cpu? Can I even overclock my q6600 on this board? Right now (the cpu) it's running with an FSB of 1066. Even if no one wants to get into specifics about the Bad Axe 2 (it's probably been covered in a different thread), if anyone can answer FSB rating question that be great.

bad ax II = 975 board.

975 board = terrible quad clocking.
