[TheRegister] So what's the easiest box to hack - Vista, Ubuntu or OS X? - Page 3

I'd put money on Ubuntu getting hacked first.

im pretty sure UNIX based OS are hackable. Nothing is un-hackable. you just need the tools, time and knowledge. These events don't actually draw out the best of the best. Granted the ones who do attend probably kick more ass then bruce lee when it comes to hacking, the super uber 1337 hackers probably regard this contest as child's play.

but then that also begs the question, wouldn't hackers like to hack the un-hackable? So wouldn't they be feverishly working to break it as we speak whether its for a contest or not?

But again you got people who can hack into NASA and the government. I'm pretty sure their internet defense system kicks apple's shiny modern design ass.

Exactly where did I say it was "unhackable"?

The weakest link is usually the systems administrator behind it.

i didnt say you said it was un-hackable. It was a misquote that was meant for someone else.

As for your the thing i quoted you earlier about, market share probably does have something to do with it because it would make more sense for a virus maker to go after a bigger target.

Example, if you were a suicidal maniac bent on killing your self and other people, would you do it in a mini-mart on a Wednesday or would you do it in the most popular mall in America on a Saturday?

the bigger the challenge usually brings a bigger reward.

I guess you already know what you said is wrong.

Actually, smarter people can just plain hack better... So that means they'd get the weaker one faster, not the stronger one just because they're more familiar with it.

Then it's just a silly and illogical thing to say, no?

I bet, too. But probably windows first, since OSX is inherently more safe due to its Linux nature.

You don't seem to even understand the fundamental differences between the UNIX design (common to Ubuntu AND Apple) and the windows proprietary design. It's silly that you kids say such things without the slightest idea why - just because you know you "hate" Apple.

You silly child. You made that up. Cute story, though
Condescend much? How about you put up some explanation of why it's not (or you should probably shut up too.)
