Well, txtmstrjoe seems to have just disappeared out of nowhere. Thlnk3r decided it was bedtime already. The three of us must chat to discuss the results before they are officially official. So looks like the results will have to be postponed for 1 day. The three of us will ALL be available tomorrow (okay, well today).....so we WILL have a chance to discuss the results, and get them posted for you eager beavers (cough Iandroo, cough). Stay tuned....the results will be out, the judges need sleep however (evidentally).

Glad I missed the dissing last night.
I might have responded and lived to regret it at a later date.

Not sure I agree that my mods are the most simple, heat producing, and useless but everyone has a right to their opinion.
I do feel that it was inappropriate for one of the contestants to be criticizing the others and a judge to quote the post before the winner was announced.
Posting additional pictures after the final submission date and excessive bumping doesn't sit well with me either.
It just doesn't seem fair to others.

I do use the LCDs quite a bit for watching TV, movies, etc. while on line.
You can drag MBM5 over to the LCD and watch temps and voltages while benchmarking full screen 3D apps.
(Here's a custom MBM5 file for DFI boards if anyone is interested, maybe the winner would find it useful-
http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6798)

The LCDs add very little heat in these cases, certainly less than the BH-5 RAM @ 3.5v, the overclocked Opty, or the Video cards.

Those that like the Plexi base on the WaveMaster may want to review my post here (it's pretty easy to do)
http://www.diy-street.com/forum/show...89&postcount=3

It was a fun contest and I really enjoy seeing pics of others rigs.
Picked up some good ideas from this thread for sure.

But it's also pretty obvious that there are some contestants that need a new motherboard more than I do.

So I have decided to withdraw my entries from the contest.

Thanks for your interest in the rigs and best of luck to the rest of the contestants. Job well done, all of you.

If you are referring to Mr. Iandroo's post making fun of everybody's entry, and then me quoting it...I would like to fully appologize to you. You are correct, it was wrong of me to do so. I would like to say in my defense, I had just gotten home from a 10 hour day at work (flipping burgers mind you), and I was actually scheduled off for the day, but somebody called in sick. For my ignorance, I appologize. I hate to see you withdraw from the contest, the winner isn't official yet, but the results are fairly clear.

I would also wish for you to revisit my post, when I quoted Iandroo. Please take note that I put into bold what I was responding to....to save time since I had just gotten home, and I wanted to relax some before more "work". I was not actually quoting (on purpose) his responses to your rigs, or anybody else's for that matter. I was quoting it for what he said about my own rig, and froggy's rig...who just so happens to be my fiance, and computes right behind me in our office. That was the ONLY reason I quoted what he had to say, nothing else.

I would also like to make mention here to ALL OUR CONTESTANTS....Froggy has absolutely NO CLUE what the judges discuss. I actually make her leave the room whilst we are discussing it, so she doesn't have any advantage over anybody else. And I would NOT EVER pick her entry based on the fact that I live with her. I originally had a prize to donate as well...but had to back out of it at the last minute. I have absolutely no want or need for any of the prizes...so if she did win, it would be solely on her entry, and all three of the judges picks alone. Again, she has NO advantage over anybody else. I can assure you that, and I'm sure txtmstrjoe and thlnk3r will back me up on this one.

Again to Soundx98:
I am VERY sorry for quoting Iandroo's entire post. I always do that just out of pure habit.....and I really truly and honestly did not mean any offense by it. Again, I was only quoting it in reference for what he said about my own, and my fiance's rig. So please, accept my appology if you would, and reconsider your decision before you withdraw. If nothing else, if you were to win...you could always donate the prize to somebody else.

These are NOT OFFICIAL results....I am only trying to persuade Mr. Soundx98 from withdrawing...its a shame to do so with the results so very near. Even I myself as a judge don't know FOR 100% SURE who the true winners are. That will be discussed in a private chatroom between the 3 judges tomorrrow at 5:45PM (that's the latest information I have).

I would also like to say thank you to everybody who entered. Great job everybody. I hope our next contest is as popular or more. And the judges and I will have to have a little sit down with Iandroo about his behavior as well.

I'm headed off to bed, so I leave you all with a good night.

Hope I didn't come across as a whiny little biatch
that definitely wasn't my intention.

But the comments and quotes were a lot like exit poll predictions in an election that influence voter turnout.
At least IMO.
I think it would be hard for judges/members to read the criticism and not be influenced by it.
I remember most of the comments for all the rigs.
(Or I may be I am just super sensitive to the useless comment)

I am not implying that anyone did anything malicious or unethical at all.
I understand the excitement of the thread and certainly know enough about the contestants to understand they are good people.
iandroo888 really wants to win that mobo and I can't blame him for that.
What better prize to win than the Best 939 mobo ever.

I can assure you if I had won the board I would have either started a "freebie" thread or more likely have built a DFI 939 rig and given it to one of the Veterans organizations.
Lot of my fellow "oldfahts" need a PC to learn new skills.
So I hope whoever wins doesn't sell it or stash it in the closet.

I try very hard not to say things that I would want to retract later.
(I'd feel really gaye changing my mind at this point.)
Lot of awesome rigs to chose from without mine. So count me out.

Everything is kewl on my end pioneer.
Kudos to you and the other judges for putting the contest together!
so sad soundx . You're rigs are all really nice, especially the one with the acrylic base (I love that, but I can not stand working with acrylic with only a jigsaw and a dremel.

Pioneer, what are your hours like?!? Going to bed at 5:00AM? That sucks...

oh no @_@ that post wasnt ment to do that @_@ it was just my opinion... i apologize for what i said that offended you (IM SORRY!!!) plz dont withdraw!! im sorry! im a direct person and most of my friends know that. i just say things. T_T (thats why i apologized beforehand at the beginning of the post in case it offends anyone.. unless pioneer's quoting completely missed that part >_>

of course everyone wants to win. also depends on if the person wants to "show" that they do or not. maybe someone else wants it more than i do but just keeps silent.

again im sorry for saying things that offended you and/or "dissed" you. after reading it again, i noticed i based it on my own "craftsman" skills and not thinking about the average level of skill most people have (hope this line doesnt offend any one @_@ again..)

dont withdraw. =[ plz?
