Congratulations to our winners and placers!

The judges will share some thoughts on how and why they chose the machines that they did, and I'll post how the points were distributed.

Again, great job, everyone.

Thanks for your participation, and your patience!
I would also like to congratulate all the winners here. I'd also like to congratulate EVERYBODY that entered our little contest. You guys made this a VERY tough race to judge.

I can agree there . The judges had to tolerate quite a bit here the last few days. You know guys, the judges have lives too . I appreciate your patience however, and I'm sure the other judges do too....just remember that next time...patience will get you further than complaining .

i really want to know how the judges graded. to be honest, i would of thought soundx98's other rig and justin146's opty meets borg woulda placed 1st and 2nd. (even after all that "negative" stuff i said.... )

this is the 1st and probably only "positive" thing to happen to me this week... school has been really stressful and unfortunately, that stress got pressed on everyone here.
I'm VERY happy for you Iandroo. Your machine spoke for itself so to say....you did an excellent job on it, and you deserve the prize you recieved. Now you BETTER treat that board well, otherwise I'm going to come over and steal it .

I had someone ask me yesterday where the power button was on my case. I you look hard at the PCB on the top rear, you will see there is a DB9 connector. Right beside it is a button and some LEDs; these are the power button, HDD and power LEDs
ANOTHER CONGRATULATIONS! I'm happy the case is ALSO going to a great home. Great to hear that its going to be put to good use, and that you actually needed it. That ALWAYS makes me feel good, when prizes go to somebody that will use them, not sell them.

He's a great guy and a dedicated 939 Club member!
You are a very generous guy. Enough said right there. I'm glad you guys got over what happened the other day..nice to see you guys playing nicely . I say keep your prize however....your cases look amazing, but they'd look even better with a nice X2 or Opteron sticker on them .

Hey now!!! I want to race the two of you!!! Dangit, why did I have to reformat now!!! Tomorrow night (if all goes to plan), I challenge the two of you .

Online hookup is a bit annoying. Any time I tried to password protect our game, the other party could not log in. My backup plan worked though: make a race for exactly 2 drivers and have Joe race into it! To be fair, Gran Tourismo 3 A-Spec has no online capabilities, and I have never tried Gran Tourismo 4, but that is local network only. Ready to visit yet txtmstrjoe?

Besides, I am better with a real car anyway.
Hey if you guys are playing again (tommorrow), I want in .

Of course you'll have to use a 939 rig!!! That's the whole point of the 939 club mister! TBH, I don't care either way though, I just have fun playing with real people, not AI bots.

Here in a few minutes, I'll post the machines that I MYSELF chose, and the reasons why I chose them. Hopefully the other two judges will do the same.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling on that, pioneer.

I'll post last. Beauty before age, since I'm the oldest amongst the judges.

As far as racing, well... I don't know. I'm frightened of blitz now.

And I've always been scared of you. You're not known as "pioneerdoesdonuts" without reason...

Alright, kiddies. Time for papa Scorpion to get his tired carcass to bed!

Tired carcass?! Is it just me, or does it seem the West-coasters go to bed before the East-coasters?

Why are you frightened of me? I only tapped you a few times, most of them unintentionally.

In my opinion everyone is a WINNER in thinker's book. All of the cases posted here were excellent! Everyone sees their case as a work of art so that's what counts

Congratulations to the winners and thank you for those whom participated in this contest. Hopefully the next one for the S939'ers is even better!

Justin I'll be contacting you tomorrow with questions on mailing address ect. ATM I need to hit the sack...work tomorrow

Alright guys, here's who I voted for, and the reasons why (the other judges should be doing the same tomorrow):

1st = Borg (3)
2nd = OEM (2)
3rd = Tux3d0 (1)

Opteron Meets the Borg, 1st Place:
I chose this case as winning first place because it was a VERY creative mod. It was well thought out, and implemented just as well. I loved the way it turned out, and I think it deserved first place points. I did kind of screw up on my judging SLIGHTLY, but the other judges seem to think it was fair. I also chose this as a first place winner because I knew that the Borg was running with a board that had onboard video. I felt that it would make sense to award a new motherboard to this entry. That's not why I chose him, but it helped fit it together.

Project OEM, 2nd Place:
I chose this as the second place winner because, well again, very well thought out design. Not too many people would think about modding an OEM HP or whatever case. I think it was well thought out, and it turned out VERY nice. The cable management wasn't superior, however given the case that it was put into...I don't think it could've been MUCH better. Again, my feelings got in the way of my vote slightly here as well, which is why its good to have more than one judge. I felt that since he was running an OEM case, it would make sense to award him a case. BTW, my feelings towards these entries only affected my choice by MAYBE 5%....I chose them because of the entry they posted...which is what I was supposed to do as a judge .

Project Tuxedo (not gonna bother with the CORRECT SPELLING ):
I chose this case as being a third place winner. This was a VERY tough decision. In all honesty, I wanted almost everybody to win first place, but that just can't happen. Project Tuxedo looked VERY nice. It was painted, decent cable management, some sexy shots of it in all its glory. Honestly, it was VERY well done, and I'm glad it actually won first place. However in my opinion, the other two cases I chose above this one, I thought were slightly more creative....creativity goes a long way with me. Project Tuxedo, although simple and plain, looked beautiful.

________________________________________
Again, these were just MY votes, and the reasons behind them. As you can see, there are numbers behind whom I chose. Those numbers represent "points". The points were tallied up from all the judges votes, and the one with the highest points won. Project Tuxedo had the most points, and all three judges had it in their lists...so it only made sense it was a clear winner. The Borg, had two of the three judge's interests....and the points that were given to it awarded it second. SR-1 was also given points to by two of the three judges, and the points awarded it third place.

These winners were all official as of the date we originally had planned. However the three judges did want to discuss these entries in a real time chat so we could make 100% for sure that we chose correctly and fairly (and according to our rules). I for one, appologize for the delays. Some of them were indeed my fault. Some were not. The delays weren't expected unfortunately. On our next contest, I think we'll announce the winners like a week after the contest is over (we'll all have to discuss this later), that way we can in fact meet the deadline.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners, and to everybody that participated. You guys made this choice VERY difficult to do. I spent HOURS trying to figure out who should and should not win. A few machines were in fact ruled out because you didn't follow the rules (you know who you are ). But the remaining entries made it VERY difficult.

I would also like to make note here, I had a list of quite a few winners to begin with that REALLY stood out to me. I had absolutely NO clue whom to award first, second, third, etc....those machines are as follows (I feel they deserve mentioning):

The Beast (ah come on, I wanted to win too, lol)
Project Tuxedo
Project OEM
Opteron Meets the Borg
SR-1
FX-60
OptyCOD
MjrTom's rig (unfortunately didn't follow the rules, but was well done)
OptyMSIPrime (unfortunately didn't follow the rules, but was well done)
All of Soundx98's rigs

Now these are just the ones that stuck out the most to me. ALL of the entries were absolute wonderful...and it made it really difficult to be a judge. The ones that didn't follow the rules, I'm sorry...but some of the rules couldn't be bent as easily as others. The judges discussed this as well when making our decisions. Almost EVERYBODY bent some rules here and there....and some of the rules were okay to bend. But the rules regarding the actual posting of your entry were pretty much set in stone .

Again, congratulations to EVERYONE....now hopefully txtmstrjoe and thlnk3rbell will use the same format maybe to make it easier for you guys .

u gave me a 1. thats suprising haha. now makes me wonder who gave me a 3.. lookin forward to reading the other two judges! oh! also! i just got my ocn.net applique i won from a freebie drawing today! just put it on and took pictures! and here it is

thx again to those who congratulated me. also everyone did a great job for this contest... some better than others.. some more creative than others.. i honestly didnt think id get 1st.. i thought most ppl would of picked soundx98's other rig (not the antec one), opty meets the borg, and mjrtom. unfortunately mjrtom's rig didnt follow the rules, i bet he would of placed!

i think a round of applause is in order for those who entered but did not win. those who did. another congratulations to you! will look forward to another contest soon! whether its within the club or within the forum. maybe will compete with eachother again on the forum case mod competition!
