[softpedia] SPARKLE 9800GX2 2x Faster Than GeForce 8800 GTX - Page 3

2x256-bit? is this equivilent to 512bits which actually utilizes the 1gig of memory better than an ATI card? Or is it like system memory where it only uses 512 at a time

Actually it was only about 80-90% as fast as a two 7900GTX's. The "sandwich" design forced lower clock and memory speeds for cooling reasons. The card was really cool if you had only one PCIE slot.

As for prices, ATI's dual GPU 3870 is running about $450ish online, while I'm only seeing the 9800GX2 for about $600ish. Benchies on this thing better completely destroy one 3870x2 for that much more money.

Firstly, 1+1 does not equal 2 in the GPU performance world. It never has, and probably never will. Secondly, the 8800 GTX is NOT G92. Where'd they pull that from?
I'm glad someone already said it.
