Bottom Line

Bottom Line: All I play is CS:S and WoW. My GeForce 7900 GS just burnt out and I need a new vid card. I was looking at either the 8800 GT or the 8600 GTS or GT or whichever they sell at Staples. ALL I PLAY IS WOW AND CSS. Do I really need to shell out the extra 50 bucks for an 8800 GT? Or would an 8600 play at least as well as the 7900 GS.

I'm not looking for the perfect graphics that come with the 8800 Ultra or the 9600 or w/e, just moderate enough to look good.
Opinions?

depends on your monitor resolution as well. if you don't have to push a lot of pixels, you don't necessarily need to spend a bunch on your video card.

Agreed. You shouldn't need anything more than that. You can max out your settings and run smooth. I know cause I have one

Someone post where I'd find the 9600 for 130 after mail in rebate?
I'm only seeing it for 219ish.
