I know this is probably in the wrong area, but I didn't find any area for VIA processors.

I have a VIA pc-1 Platform VIA C7-D 1.5GHz CPU which actually came from an Everex GPC (the $199 Walmart special). I'm trying to use it as a data logger at a remote site where the power comes from a solar source - so I'd like to keep the wattage as low as possible.

The BIOS is a Phoenix AwardBIOS. I apologize in advance for my ignorance - I know nothing about overclocking or underclocking.

But I thought you guys would be able to at least tell me even if I could underclock this thing, could I save any significant wattage?

And if the answer is yes, could someone tell me where to start?

TIA
