similar prices which would you choose, ive heard nothing but good things about the XMS 2 and the Geil UlTRA.

also would there be much performance difference between the geil ultra and the geil value http://geilusa.com/products/showSpec/id/52

I honestly really like my GeIL stuff because it has such a high max voltage so I can push it a little harder than the rest. This GeIL set is the first time I've ever used them and I really like them so far, a lot more than my old OCZ Reapers. They stayed nice and cool, but with a max voltage of 2.1 (the GeIL's standard voltage) doesn't allow much breathing room.

The GeIL RAM is supposed to be run at 2.1 - 2.3 volts, however it can be run up to 2.5 volts.

I'd go with Corsair out of those 2.
Better than either, look into the Crucial Ballistix PC8500 instead.
