Im just saying I own a few top brands, and in real-world scenarios, Silenx pushed more air at lower RPMs. They make about the exact same noise as the popular Antec Tricools at medium, yet push only a bit less air then them at max. Then I look at the box:

Silenx (not Silenex) : 72cfm
Antec: 79cfm

The reason they push more air at lower RPMs air is because of the weird front which makes each blade longer. (http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/file.../ixp-76-18.jpg)

Also that link did not even rate the Silenx fans.

You cant argue with simple aerodynamics. The blades are longer=more air pushed per round. Also make sure you use the rubber-silicon screw things for reduced vibration. And keep it at 1400rpm. Just my 2 cents, no need to say you know someone across the world who has a broken silenx and complains it pushes less air when he stuffs a log in it.

While it may not run at 14dba, as long as you use the rubber things to reduce vibration and make sure all the noise is on-axis, they will push the 72cfm quietly.

As for 14cm fans, Aerocools are not horrible. Go try and find a better 14cm with LEDs.

......please go away and never come back......

As mentioned earlier in the thread, before this became whatever it became, have you tried to set the fan to adjust speed dynamically according to CPU temps?

There should be a setting in your BIOS.

A review from PT2 of the XtremeSystems fans round up:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...05&postcount=5

It came in second, but you can't find the first place fan anywhere. Also it comes with rubber "screws" and a under volter to make it run very quiet. I am going to buy it personally and use the under volter thing.

I think I'm going to stick with the scythe fans because the zalmans got really mixed reviews and the scythe is cheaper
