Urgent request - SEAGATE and WESTERN DIGITAL HDDs

Thread Starter
I am pretty sure both logic boards in each have fried in a surge so I am looking for replacement logic boards or new HDDs altogether which I can pull out the logic board to recover the important data on the drives. Will pay good cash if someone can help me out, or even hook me up with someone who maybe able to pull some of the data from either of the drives. Here is the drive info, and thanks in advance...

What state do you live in? as I'm pretty sure most computer stores do hard drive recovery however it is really expensive

Anyway you can get help from the manufacturer?

With Seagate, you could probably RMA the drive, have them ship it to you first, swap logic boards, recover data, then swap the boards back and send them the dead drive.

if the drives are still in production. it would probably be cheaper to buy exact copies to get your parts.. as someone will be milking you for your money to help with "data recovery"

how similar do the drives generally have to be?

It has to be the exact same model to run using another logic board. Otherwise if you use the wrong one, the heads will total the data on the drive.
Even if it is the same model, they do revisions over the years. I know I tried to do this for an 80 gig WD of the same model but it had changed since I bought my drive. Your WD is going to be very hard to find since it is older.
