Can any case fan be hooked to a speed controller?

In reference to the post I made in the CM690 thread, I ordered 7 of the Yate Loon fans. Noise shouldn't be a problem for me and I have always been plagued with overheating inside the case. My last 2 computers over the last 4 years have never had side panels on because overheating was always an issue.

This time I have a E6420 overclocked to 3.2Ghz so cooling is even more important. I went ahead and ordered a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme as well, but if temps inside the case are not an issue could I just hook a fan speed controller to the case fans and slow them down?

Here are the fans.

And here is the controller I am looking at getting.

I am going to Tigerdirect this afternoon so I like to be able to pick stuff up in the store if I can. But I don't want to get it, if it will not work with the fans.

Yes the controller will work with any fan since its just a variable resistor it can also control brightness of LED's and anything that uses the same connectors.
