Question About eVGA RMA

Hi,

I've got my friend's card which is under lifetime warranty

But when trying to bring the card out of the system he accidentally broke one of the solid capacitors located near the 6 pin pci-e plug

I currently have the card and the capacitor

so will eVGA fix that for free, if not around how much they'll charge me?
also will they accept an RMA without the original accessories and box?

Most likely they will deny the RMA since there is physical damage to the board.

  • All retail Graphics Card and Mainboard products ending in the part number K1 receive a limited 3 year warranty when registered within 30 days from ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE.
  • There is no physical damage to the PCB, GPU/chipset, or components that are caused by: Damage due to improper installation, damage during modification of any kind, damage during any type of Aftermarket cooling installation, and water damage of any kind.
  • EVGA will cover all return shipping back to the customer for the RMA replacement with free ground shipping through UPS in the United States and free FedEX Ground shipping to Canadian Customers.*

do u have the original reciept? why don't u call them and ask then you'll know or just tell them it u got it that way.

I agree, call them. They have the best customer support and are without equal in that department. Tell them the card's capacitor came off, and you want to send it back for repair. They will bend over backwards to help you! Just make sure you use your friends info when you RMA since the warrany does not transfer.

but I have called and the customer service rep told me that they won't charge me anything at all

so 2 question to be answered please

1- can I RMA without original box?
2- how long the RMA should take given that shipping from here to US takes a maximum of 5 days

They do a pretty quick turn around. You might want to do a cross ship. I think they charge $14 and they ship a new card to you, then you put your card in the provided box and ship it back. It is really easy!

If you dont cross ship I dont think you will have a problem shipping it back as long as it is packaged correctly.
