Hot a bit but it is still ok. What's the stepping of your Q6600. B3 has max thermal limit - 62c. Again, you need to find out to see if your BIOS has an option to trigger system shutdown first. Mine sets to 70c. Then you need to do a long stress test to see if your system is stable.

my cpu is G0, so I finally found out what should be the cause.
after I monitored a few shut off I found out when they shut off, cpu were at low 50's degree (3.6ghz 1.475vc 1600FSB 1.4V).
Here is what I did.
lower multiplier to 8X and get 3.2ghz but same, auto shut off around 1-2hr.
now I lower the FSB to 1400 leave multiplier at 9 so my cpu is at 3.15ghz now and problem is gone it will runs for 6-7 hrs not a problem.

Do you think it is because the FSB gets too hot at 1600mhz? is a xfx 780i.
