Opinion needed on 600$ rig.

Guys i need your opinion before i goto the store tomorrow. Here's what i built:
Q6600
ASUS P5K-V
Kingston DDR2 800MHz
Coolermaster 400W PSU
Standar casing
standard keyboard/mouse
8600GT
160GB HDD
Lite-on 20x
Budget: 600$ in Pak rupees (40k)
I know i could get better components for this price but they arent available here in pakistan. My friend already has that gfx card so he'll be usin it till the 9-series or ati mid-range cards come out here. How would this rig perform? My friend asked me to build this as he doesnt know much about computers. Had to loan em money to get better components. He's upgrading from a celeron so im sure he'll be blown away. What is your opinion on this rig? Good enough for entry level gaming?

Seems like a solid build. Maybe a different set of ram? http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...y&promoid=1065

Powerful cpu and OK for GPU but it is still abig upgrade from his celeron. So, you can't get The ATX P5k there?

What is doing with the PC ? I think the quad is overkill for a budget build.

Why doesn't anybody ever include the monitor or OS in thier pricing lol!!

He already has Windows XP which he'll remove from his celeron and install on his new PC. He's got half the money by sellin parts of his old pc! So monitor and OS is already there. I suggested an E8400 but E8400 retails for about 270$ here and the quad for 300$ so we figured it wasnt much of a difference. Computer is for gaming, encoding a lil bit. It's an overkill, agreed but the other procs are not that cheap or are outta stock! So Q6600 is the best option. I think he'll be blown away compared to his old celeron! I was thinkin of an AMD build which is cheaper and he couldve gone for more HDD and a nicer casing and peripherals but he wanted intel only!
