got myself a Q6600 , how my temps?? - Page 3

I don't think you're in danger of damaging the CPU at this point, but you may be if you over-clock.

I've just started overclocking my Q6600, core temps (measured with the latest version of CoreTemp) are at abut 25-26C idle and 47-49C at load for 25 minuets, and I'm running at 3.015 on air.

I'd say your temps seem much too high at stock speed, particularly on liquid cooling. Is your cooler doing the job on cooling your coolant? What is the coolant temp, can you see that?

also , the temprature of my "water" , is 30C when the CPU is under full load , with my old cpu , the temprature of my "water" was at 38C under full load...soo the actual water aint getting hot , soo im guessing the heat sink aint on properly.....

what is a good easy thermal past to use??

thanks
Use core temp, i think your idles are actually in the 30's it just is telling you it wrong. That happened to me yesterday.

That's an odd amount of difference from idle to load...

According to Intels specs your still in the safe area whilst under load, although as others have said already the difference between load and unloaded temps look a bit weird unless maybe your ambient temps are quite low and perhaps your cpu fan/cooler is not very efficient at the higher temps?

I find this page very helpful when needing to know Intel temp figures (scroll down)

I always try to keep mine under 60C, You could also try dropping the voltage a tad as that helps with temps, my quads @ 1.22v. Just make sure your fully stable afterwards if you try.
