Headphones with great Bass

I have some Bose Around Ear headphones and I love the sound quality, but there kind of lacking in the bass area. Any good recommendations? If possible I would like around the same sound quality but with really good bass. Thanks for the help!

Price range? You can do much better, quality wise, than the bose for the same price you paid for them.

Well the bose headphones were a gift, so they were free But I'll be buying the next ones, I'd like to spend no more than $150.

Sennheiser HD280 seem to be a great choice, but does anyone know how well the bass sounds in them? I love my bass, probably from my car stereo days, so the more bass the better.

Beyerdynamic DT770's would be a wise decision. However, if you only have onboard sound card (that is unless you listen to music through alternate methods - such as record players or stereos ), I would recommend you upgrade that first.

Usually the X-Fi line from Creative is what I'd say would be best for your needs (looking at your system specs, you look a bit like a casual gamer ). I recommend any card from them apart from the low-profile cards (XtremeGamer, XtremeAudio, and a last one which I can't remember the name of).

The DT770's are extremely bassy - ask Namrac about it, he has them, and he thinks (from what I've noticed) that they're extremely bassy, but not too much. I tried them too, but unfortunately only directly from an onboard sound card, and I thought they kicked ass too.

HD280s are actually not that great for the price. Sennheiser is much better with open cans.

In that pricerange, I'd recommend either Audio Technica ATH-A700s, or if you can find them used, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros, the 80 ohm version. I have the latter, and the bass is ridiculous. I got mine for $150 shipped, but it was a bit of a deal at the time, so...

I say if you can find the DT770s, get them, if not, go for the A700s.

Edit: The DT770s are very, very bassy indeed, but it's not bloated or overpowering, it just goes down really, really low, and there's an ample supply of it. If you're looking for body-shaking bass, headphones will not provide that. however, from an auditory sense, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who needed more bass than DT770's can provide.

Well I love my bose quiet comfort 3's and I think they have great bass, but many people on here will tell you that you can get much better for cheaper, so wait for the audiophiles to respond
