I haven't folded for a while... My computer has had PRIME95 running since I turned in my last unit

Its either getting hammered by PRIME or the BIOS key is getting its butt kicked!

Right now I think I am on the VERY edge of my CPU's stability limit... I tried for 4.38 and it did not make the whole 8 hours so I am going through the very painstaking process of upping by 10mhz and testing for 8-10 hours.....up another 10mhz....another 10 hrs of testing....an so on....

All I know is, whatever my chip can hold stable at its absolute maximum, I AM GOING TO FIND IT AND HIT IT ON THE HEAD TO THE NEAREST 10th of a GHZ!!!!! RAAHAHHAHAHAHA@!!!!@!@!@

Im planning on a vdroop mod because its horrible at these high speeds...

I set 1.42 V in BIOS

I get 1.360 Idle in windows

I get 1.320 under stress .....

Thats a full tenth of a volt drop.... If I can close the gap between IDLE and LOAD.... I can safely use more volts...but 1.32volt drop under load, the CPU is sucking up too much vdroop and making my goal very hard

Read up on vmod... got what I needed to do

I decided to do a LIVE VMOD - left PRIME95 running while stroking the pencil over resistors.....

I has set 1.41 in BIOS and was getting 1.320 under load........ I started stroking.... my vcore jumped from 1.320 under load to 1.378!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHUT UP SON!

But then I realized thats alot of volts so I panicked more! Shut down quick!~!!

Right as I reboot, bank calls me "sir you left your debit card here, please come pick it up. If not claimed after 24 hours it will be destroyed." WHAT!!!!!!!

So Im doing like 70 on the road to claim my bank card and get back to OCing (jk)

Got back real fast and set my BIOS voltage to 1.362.... My new idle voltage is 1.344!! W00t

And it does not budge under load!!!!!!!!!! HOLY HELL YES BABY MORE MHZ HERE I COME!
Sweet

My board has similar vdroop so I penciled it (ALOT) and managed to get it down to 266 ohm from something crazy like 1900. I have a 1 notch drop from what I set in the bios but then it stays rock solid It's just a pity that my quad really doesn't want to do more than the 3.51 I have it running at now

Oh man I am so impatient lol..

Im running 4409mhz right now and PRIME is going strong for 2 hours now...... I want to bump up the mhz already lol but I must let it finish to ensure its stable

yes, and it was godly. I had to do it while it was running and under load so I knew that I got enough graphite on there (or too much)

but yeah... I was pretty scared... more worried that I would sweat and a drop of it would drip onto the mobo while i was trying to do it lol...

Once i got like 4-5 lines down I look back at the screen and my volts jumped from 1.320 to 1.378 and I was like "OMG WIN"

haha. Way to go! Especially the part about holding back from sweating.

I went on a scouting expedition today. Sure enough, there was Frankie, fighting them all by himself. He kept shouting "LEMAN'S FRIEND!!!" then "wham". He was really holding his own against like 30 folders. I felt sorry for the big lug, and went running up to help him. He shouts "LEMAN'S FRIEND!!" I'm like......."NO..NO..FRANKIE'S FRIEND!!!" Whew, he almost took me out too. So I told him I was getting my horse and headed back to help him.

I couldn't let the big guy fight them all by himself. I honestly don't expect you guys to fold or anything. This was our month off. But if you decide to get back in the action....that'd be cool.

Oh man haha it was quite the trip

And man I really wanna start folding again but Ive been making so much progress on my OC... I wanna keep going lol! Ill eventually hit the limit and take a step back for stability but for now I have yet to find a stopping point.. Im going to try for another jump right now
