Yea memory isnt worth trying to cool that much anyways, the thermal pads do the job. Upping memory usually does little in terms of performance.
all ive been getting are 1680 which take a lot time for the gpu but then are ok on points. As long as im above 2500 I could care less haha.

I might be part of some thermal paste, such as AS5, being conductive. I'm not sure though. When I had an 8800gt, I put MX-2 on the ram and core and never had a problem.
