Zalman CNPS9700 LED - Page 2

yeah its what retains the heatsink lol, fasten both sides a little at first, dont fasten down one side completely, otherwise it can become a pain to push down the other side, once both sides are slightly fastened but fastens neatherless, tighten them both up a little at a time switching over to spread the preassure, but yeah thats fine its normal

Hey guys/girls. Not sure where to post this but this seems like the right place to do it. Even if it was started 4 years ago haha I guess I'm late to the party as usual. I just recently purchased a CNPS9700 led and Immediately upon removal, I noticed there was no plastic film on the bottom of the heatsink. The surface was lightly scratched and has a fog on it, like it is oxidized or something. Cleaning the bottom does not clear it up. Did your coolers come with protection on the bottom?

Also my fan is making a buzzing noise from the motor upon installation. It looks as if I recieved a used cooler marked as new at this point. Any thoughts? Thanks

Sounds like u may need to send it for rma. Yes normal they come with a covor and its shiny and no scratchs. That is possible that u got a used 1

I appreciate your input on it! I messaged both the seller and Zalman to see what my options are. Honestly I'm more worried about the fan and I would rather just order a replacement from Zalman. This rig has taken forever to build. I'm ready to actually enjoy it for once! haha
