Chances are they are roughly equivalent, in multi-threaded apps, at stock. After all, the Black Edition 9600 wasn't that far behind the Q6600, it just didn't OC at all, so everyone wrote it off. However, it is yet to be determined how the newer Phenoms will OC, so the Q6600 may still be better once both are OC'ed. Of course, no one, not even all of the mighty Intel users here on OCN, know for sure how it will perform, we can all only speculate.
Bravo. Rep+ for telling it like it is.

AMD has been trailing behind Intel since C2D's first came out. That, plus the fact they just had to lay off a bunch of people.. My faith in them isn't too high at the moment.

I'm an AMD fan myself, but their current products just can't compete with Intel.

Wasting, I think you have the Pounds to Dollars conversion backwards.

Also, I fail to see where I acted like a child, or where it was warranted for him to tell me to "Settle Down" but if the consensus is that I was childish, then apparently I did something wrong. So, sorry for whatever it is I did that made me seem childish.

If they did charge the same as a Q6600, and they charge the same as a Q6600, how is that in any way a rip off? Just because it came out second? If anything else, that should make it more expensive, as it's newer technology.
if the newer technology surpasses what's best at the table now, then i could see why they can charge the $$$ they want for it,but if it's less on par with the current tech then why pay for the same price for less it's just not logical.

i saw on a Tigerdirect review that the Phenoms have 4 pipelines, as to where the intels have 2? not sure on how that relates to technology though..

1.) Because it is still the same AMD architecture, other than sharing an L3 cache, which isn't as good as the Intel 65nm tech. Until AMD changes their architecture vastly, this is like comparing the A64s with the P4s, P4s just didn't cut it, Core Duos were the architecture change that was needed for Intel to really compete again.

2.) I think somebody is grumpy.....do you need to sit in the grumpy bear chair?
