what just happened? - Page 5

Well my google skills failed to find a proper review of the Raidmax you listed. But just because a power supply works, doesn't mean it works well. It is hard for normal computer users to actually see how well a PSU works. If you plug all your stuff in and it boots up and runs, it gets a good review. They have no clue about bad caps, ready to explode if you put too much load on it or the poor efficiency they are getting.

Anyways, my other point is yes not all Rosewills are bad. The Rosewill RP series is respectable. But for the price they are going for, there is no reason to chose them over the Corsair, Antecs and Enhance I linked which are all in the same price range and are better units.

in order for some products to be top of the line, some have to be under par. it will be ok, nothing to argue about. these are opinions you know, not facts(in some cases).

I'm not trying to start an argument or anything. I know quite a lot of this is my opinion but I try to judge a PSU by a quality review, not anecdotal evidence. Saying it works for me or 59% of buyers gave it a perfect score is worthless compared to data from someone who knows how to test a psu. I need to see voltages and efficiency at different loads and temperatures. I need to know how bad the ripple is. I need to see the unit torn apart and its components inspected for quality. I've lost too much hardware from cheapo psus dieing. Hopefully I can help someone else avoid that.

Well if you really are trying for data about the X2 Connect, I have one sitting right here.

It is on the shelf.

As in not plugged into anything.

It looks really fantastic. Sooooo shiney.

The modular connections are great.

The fan adjusts supposedly based on power draw.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. It sounds like a frigging 747 taking off.

So the moron above who told me that I was the problem with the PSU, I am glad you enjoy yours. I don't like mine. By the way I am entitled to that opinion and it is much more worthwhile than your insults.

I agree with you there - but are you sure you want to be recommending the Cooler Master iGreen 500w? Last I checked, Jonny Guru Pretty much failed it. I'm not sure if that's the same model though.

That one you linked is a Coolmax . Here's a couple reviews for the iGreen, they aren't perfect but they do show that it's a decent unit,

As far as I know the stealthxstream is a cheaper version of the gamexstream. And although the gamexstream isn't a bad unit, its got some bad ripple at high loads. In the big picture it's not a big deal but for the $90-$100 range you can do better.
