[DesktopLinux] Windows is caught between Mac and Linux - Page 3

A lot of people disagree, but i think apple wouldn't be selling nearly as many computers if it wasn't for the iPod. A lot of idiots out there just want to be trendy, and think because iPods are cool so are macs. Im not saying all mac users are idiots, but a lot of people buy them just because they think they are cool-and not the dual-quad core intel cpus cool, but the "oh its apple so it must be cool" cool.

These kinds of people are the ones when asked if they have a mac or a pc, respond "neither, its a dell".

Can't disagree with that.

Although I think that number is greatly exaggerated, there are definitely people like that.

Yeah, microsoft needs someone to kick them in the knee a few times (maybe 20)... They need to stop delaying things and start pumpin out things a bit quicker, or on time at the least

I like how this article makes it sound like Windows is losing somehow...they still dominate 80% of new PC sales!
Thank you for pointing that out - Windows 7 is a somewhat of a rehash of whats already out there, just fine tuned and rebadged like the 9800GX2...lol

Since when didn't Microsoft try to make a mac-type user interface? Mac's interface is about simplicity.... Vista now asks you if you want to open the internet after you have already clicked the internet button two times.... And asks you to say YES two times before deleting a file that you aready pressed {Delete} on... You gonna tell me that Vista isnt trying to become more appealing to the not-so-educated PC users?

lol, in that case, Leopard copied off of vista. Leopard now asks when you open a new program for the first time, "You downloaded this on <date> at <time>. Are you sure you want to open this?"

I just think their is too much junk tied to Vista giving it a bad rap First the whole "only Vista will have DX10" issue... that just annoyed all of the XP users... then there are way to many different versions... and the whole OEM scene is retarded... now I change hardware and must repurchase the OS (I know this isn't native to Vista but they could have forgone this stupid method of luring ppl to use their software)! Oh, and I do feel the OS might be over-priced... but the OS itself works IMO... and is good...

Regardless, Mac's market share is not going to grow much. They are in a niche market, with their super expensive Mac Book Pro's.
Can you back that up?

I wish Windows would die a quick and painless death so that every single game dev (Valve mainly) will start developing for Mac/Linux

They don't have to die, just stop being crappy. But I agree that game developers should develop games for all platforms.
