5200+, how to overclock? - Page 2

sorry that i havent answered but i got some others things to do but now, i have put HT multiplier to 800mhz and rams off auto, on 533mhz setting, klocks are now 5-5-5-18-2t.
processor is running at 2925mhz, but i get error in orthos after 5mins, and my coputer crashes, is the clocks too high? temps are about 49-51C. i put cpu voltages to 1.2v.
HT link is now running 900mhz speed with "4" multiplier.
mem. speed is 292mhz with these clocks.
so the bus speed is now 225mhz@13multiplier.

could you tell how i can make the comp. not to crash while running orthos, and is there any more space to OC more?

Latex, great job so far. The processor Vcore is a tad low. Stock voltage for a 5200+ Windsor is rated between 1.3 and 1.35 volts. Try running the stock 1.3 voltage rating and see if your OC is stable in Orthos.

See my last post, can you include some CPU-Z screenshots for us? Each tab would also be helpful.

Good luck

here are the pics u asked for.
now i lowered the clocks to 220mhz and runned orthos 1h, without problems, and 3d mark06 cpu points went 300points up
i will next try to raise the voltages on cpu and test if the temps go up. if they are ok, should i try again the 225fsb speed?
and, can i put my mem speed back to 667mhz, or do i have to keep it 553mhz setting, if i could just raise the fsb to 230, i wouldnt have to raise the mem speed, and it would run aprox. the same speed that it would do on normal clocks and on 667mhz option.

ask if you dont understand my text, i wrote it pretty fast so it might be a bit unclear.

Latexi, looks good. Go ahead and shoot for 225HTT. Keep the memory divider at the same setting (DDR2 533). Make sure to also bump your voltage up to at least the stock rating. You may want to also try changing the HT multiplier from 4x to 5x. Some AM2 processors overclock quite well between 1200-1400mhz.

Let us know

Good luck

my mobo wont let me put core voltage over 1,25v???? that is the max volts that i can choose there:S.
well, i put that 1,25v and temps went in load to 54C. i raised the fsb to 222mhz and its working fine, i try the 225, if it doesent work, i try to put the ht back to X5 and try with that

Latexi, what model M2N you are running?

Good luck

I cant find anything else but asus m2n, not even on the mobo box where it came!?
well, now i have been able to put 230fsb and running smoothly(3ghz). today i will put it to the test with orthos.
do you think that i could tighteng up the ram clocks? they are shown above ^^
temps are around 50-55 in load, so are they still okay`?

Latexi, I usually like see how far of an OC I can get on my processor first before I start playing with my memory. Make sure it's Orthos stable first. You can then probably start tightening the sub timings if you would like. After adjusting your memory, use memtest to test first before logging into Windows. An unstable memory overclock can easily lead to data corruption.

Good luck

You definitely need more voltage to get higher plus better cooling.
I got up to 3300MHz with your processor using voltage 1.4V.
