Looks like you got some good deals with those pawn shop tools. I hadn't thought of that actually. Well, now its the first place I'll check. And yeah, the sander was a good idea with all the sanding you're going to end up doing.

The inside of the foam? or do you mean the inside of the case?

**Update

Well I put on the fiberglass... Man that stuff is messy, and the resin burns like hell when you get it on your skin. Here are some pictures for your eyes to see .

Fiberglass Mat..

Fiberglass Resin...

Then I put the fiberglass mat into the fiberglass resin...

Then I covered the case with the fiberglass mat that was soaked in the fiberglass resin (there is fiberglass in the fan holes and the front window).

Then I mixed the resin with the hardener in a separate container, and applied it over the fiberglass mat that was on the case with a paintbrush...

.. Now I am waiting for it to dry, it will probably take 1-2 hours... Man I really hope I did this rite.

You should make a trip to an Ace Hardware if you have one around you. I know at the one I work at you can get belts up to 600 grit. Also if you want to do some fine spot sanding I know they have cheap mouse sanders, they work great for corners.

Edit: Man that looks like a killer mess. My parents would kill me if I did that on the front driveway.

The fiberglass looks great bro! But I dont think you'll need another coat. That one should be plenty strong enough. That and you thought the bondo was hard to sand, you better be glad you got the belt sander for that 'glass!

Alrite good! I was worried I may have done it wrong but I guess not . Well I wouldn't be able to do another coat rite now, I used up the whole quart of Resin and one of the bags of mat (8sq.ft!). I am glad that that is all I will have to do, I hate working with fiberglass... It is easier than Bondo tho.

Aw man, I had a feeling that this would be hell to sand... Do you think the the 80gritt sand paper belt on the belt sander is to aggressive for sanding fiberglass?

When you sand that fiberglass make sure you use a mask/respirator thats rated for fiberglass, you don't want to be sucking that in. Also wear long sleeves and such to keep it off your skin.

Agreed, you should put a sheet down under the fiberglass from now on (if you do anymore layers) that stuff will RUIN anything it gets on, I know from experience, lol.

Also, wear LONG SLEEVES and GLOVES while sanding that glass down. If you get strands of the fiberglass on your bare skin you'll be itching for DAYS! And a helpful hint, if you DO get it on you, wash with COLD water. Hot water will open your pores on your skin and let the stuff get deeper into you, cold water keeps them closed, making the irritation a little less severe.
