Open File - Security Warning...on all MP3's!?

Hi guys.

The computer i will be talking about is umbra. as you can see i'm running Vista Ultimate 64bit. but also with SP1.

Every single mp3 file i wish to listen to brings up a "open file - security warning" message. and if i uncheck the "always ask before opening this file.." checkbox, it only disables the popup for that particular mp3. but for some reason, not all mp3's

As you might've guessed, with alot of MP3 files this message can get very annoying. any idea why its behaving like this and how to fix it?.

Thanks alot . +rep given to all who deserve it.

Windows just isn't sure you really wanted to open them... I mean come on, it's just doing its job. Right?

Would you really rather have it say "yes" to everything instead of asking you first?

i think its just somehow gotten confused. if i remember right, when you uncheck the "always ask when opening this file.." it disables that security warning for every file with that extension.

Not only that, but it never used to behave like this either...

Disabling UAC is out of the question . i'm a control freak and like to know exactly what my system is doing.
