Flawed video playback after overclock?!

I tried to overclock using riva turner v2.08. All what I did was decrease fan speed to 25% for 2d and brought high performance 3d to 100%. Then I added a slight overclock only to high performance 3d clocks. All seemed well, but when I play a video file, i see intense tearing and when I upscale the video gets very flimsy and blurry, kinda like when you have a video card with 8mb of memory. I have a 7800GS so can someone tell me why this happens?

probably because you shouldn't oc it unless you have better cooling than the stock cooler that's on it

I dont think thats the problem; I said I only added a slight overclock and I never saw any kind of artifacting in gaming also, the temp on the card never went higher than 57 C when playing a game like bioshock and when the fan is running at 25% on idle it remains at 50 C. The stock cooling on the 7800GS is pretty much a monster. I could understand if my card temps were over 70 C and I saw artifacting while playing games but thats not the case here.

Thanks for your help anywayz though.

Video, like pictures does not display well at resolutions above what they were originaly recorded at. If you take an 800x600 video and decide that you want to view it at 1024x768 you'll see noticeable quality degredation.

I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

If you set your clocks back to default does the problem correct itself?
