need help flashing my bios

hiya ive been to asus.com and downloaded the latest bios update for my board version 1404, i have extracted the folder, and when i try to open the update a black box pops up for about 1/2 a second then dissapears i cant seem to flash my bios or am i doing something wrong (proberly!)

The provided file is not run in Windows.

Its usually laded on to a media that is boot able.... according the the manuals instructions.
My be loaded via a BIOS resident flash function.
Or, the BIOS up date is initiated by a Windows program which some/many MB manufacturers include on the CD that came with the MB but require that you install the program.

Asus has a program called AsusUpdate that will update the BIOS for you,just make sure you have the latest version of asusupdate.

Make sure you set your BIOS settings back to default before flashing the new BIOS.
