Best Air Cooling on the Market??

Thread Starter
I had the Scythe Infinity Heat Sink/Fan, went out and bought the Tuniq Tower 120, and now I'm eyeing the ThermalRight Ultra Extreme.

But I want the Best Air Cooling on the market. I dont think i'd see much of a difference between the TRUE and the TT120. At least, I didn't see much of a difference between the Scythe Infinity and the Tuniq Tower,

So Please, I want the best Air Cooling possible..

Right now, as it stands, I'm running my Q6600 @ 3.6 Ghz 1.4875 v, but it's hitting the thermal threshold, (`70c), and I didn't like the temps at 3.4 Ghz either, so i've got it tuned down to 3.2 Ghz.

Funny thing enough, I only noticed a 300 Point difference in 3DMark06 between 3.2 Ghz and 3.6 GHz. This lead me to ask, is it even worth it? Probably not i'm sure...

But if anyone can recommend me a better cooler than the TRUE, or even the TRUE with 2 x 120mm Noctua Fans I'd do it. I Just don't want to have to lap --- I probably will have to. :S

Please help!

Shawnj0

Essentially I just don't want to have to watercool.

I just wish I could have it be under 60 C Load :S Maybe that's not realistic for 3.6 Overclock...

the IFX14 is like 1 or 2 degrees cooler than the Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 and its ALOT bigger so not worth it

just get this:

http://www.directron.com/u120e.html

I have this cooler w/ my q6600 g0 @ 3.4 and my load temps are below 55

The IFX-14 is much larger and more expensive but 1-2degrees still makes it the best so if $$ and space aren't concerns it's your ticket. Otherwise Lysdexik has it right.

Yeah, Ideally I'd like it to be smaller than the Tuniq, but not bigger -- since the tuniq barely fits...

I just want THE best in the market without having to go to WC... Ideally I'd want 60 C load @ 3.6..

edit: thanks for the help guys... rep + for all

IFX-14 is HUGE, I think it's larger than a Tuniq so you might want to look into that if it's a concern.

yeah but guys, I only got a 300 Point difference in 3DMark06 from 3.2 to 3.6 --- Is buying a TRUE even worth it to shave off a couple degrees @ 3.6 to not notice a difference? I'm really doubting it now..
