Gaming headset suggestions pls

Thread Starter
Well I have to buy some headphones (well better than my crappy Logitech ones) to hold me over until my Z5500s get back from RMA.

These will be for gaming and music.......but the most important thing is gaming (positional audio and sound quality)
Comfort is EXTREMELY important, as I am very hot natured......especially while gaming
I'll spend up to $150, but I'd rather stay around $100 if possible.

A few I have in mind.....
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106163
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5634431

Anyone have the multi-speaker headsets? I mean my X-Fi does positional with CMSS3d well......I wonder how much multiple speakers will help in a headset.....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826158051
This seems like a good deal.....I wonder about the quality for so cheap......

Icemat? As in the people that used to make the mouse pads?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...343&CatId=2382 Here's another to add to the list. I've had them since last summer, they've been with me through a lot and haven't broken yet. The sound quality is better than any headset I've used before, as well as having multiple speakers in the headset, the attachable mic, it's a really well rounded headset, that's NOT expensive. I know there are better, but the quality these offer is amazing. I'm quite the audiophile, and the first time i put these on, I was astounded.

5.1 speakers [multi-speaker headsets] are hog wash.
the Sennheisers will treat you well. comfort comes at a price though.
you can always get the HD555's, zalman clip mic, and change the pads out.

most people get the PC156, PC161, or if they go the zalman clip mic
HD555, ATH-A700's. thats what is constantly recommended. in fact,
ill petition for a sticky.

That has to be one of the ugliest headsets ive seen!

Get the sennheisers, but I would go up to the pc160 range because those ones have a wider frequency.

Well, whether you think it's hogwash or not, it's a lot better than any headset I've used, I think you'd be surprised.

Yea I'm ordering this now......well I have to find the clip elsewhere because newegg is out.

That clip on mic is a bit hard to find in the states, but I found it at performancePCs.....
I could only find it at Canadian stores, and the shipping was really high..........
Well I'm excited to get these headphones.....the Logitech ones I have to use right now sound terrible compared to my Z5500s. Not to mention that they're uncomfortable as sin....

I'd say go with the 156's. I own them, and they rock. very comfortable, a little big though, i've heard complaints of them being to loose on a small headed individual.

Here's a link for the mic:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=1768

not sure wat the shipping cost will be, might just be worth waiting for Newegg to get more (although they always seem to be out)
