It shows them running stock cooling on their GPU and according to that it's not in SLI.

Again I think that the CPU overclock is skewing results. I wish they'd take the CPU score out of there all together and -not- make it a factor in the testing if that's possible. If you want to test your processors performance you can use PCMark04/05.

That's my take on it anyway but unfortunately CPU's will always affect video either by creating or reducing a bottleneck.

***EDIT***
Actually, check out the CPU score. I don't think that's high enough to really skew the results based on that total alone. It may just be removing any bottle neck that could potentially be there meaning that an overclocked 8800GT is free to use all resources.

SM 2.0 Score 8669
SM 3.0 Score 8815
CPU Score 3801

Crap... Link doesn't work here at work. Just shows a blank system config. Just curious.

I'm having trouble cracking 18K with my 8800GT's in SLI. Can't get my E8400 over 3.8... Still trying to figure things out a bit.

EDIT: Link is working now. I find it hard to believe that one 9600GT can break 18,000K like that. The E8400 in that link is only running 200mhz faster than mine...and has 300 more total points over my SLI config? Hmm.

sure the processor is skewing results, but iv read a lot of reviews where the 9600gt SLI vs 8800gt SLI and they were very close... and even equal in a few situations. Card for card tho the 8800gt is clearly the winner but for performance per dollar in SLI I'm not so sure.

I sold my 8800gt for 200 on ebay and then bought 2 9600s for 300 shipped.
100 dollar upgrade, I know im happy.

That's true but the 18k -isn't- SLI according to the specs.

you can't beat them for $300 that's for sure! I really want to get two of these myself. I need to see how much I can sell my G80 GTS 320 KO and go from there.

You do know that the CPU is overclocked to 4GHz, and that 3DMark will raise your 3DMarks to a higher score. And there has been a score that matches that with only 1 8800GT also.

This topic gets an ass stamp and a fail. Your question has been answered. The 8800GT can beat that score.

I can agree on how well a 9600GT scales in SLi. Very great.

EDIT: Sorry SkunkSmash, I'm just not feeling well today so sorry for my temper.
