Isn't that the same thing smokers and alcoholics say? Either that or "Quitting is easy, I've done it like 10 times."

I'm not saying you're addicted but there are a lot of people who are. If you're failing school or getting fired because you're too busy searching Facebook or Second Life, sorry to say, that's an addiction and an illness. It reminds me of a Mitch Hedberg line about addictions being illnesses and how it doesn't quite add up:

"Damn it Otto, you're an alcoholic...... Damn it Otto, you have Lupis. One of those things just doesn't sound right."

To quote someone semi-famous (semi because I remember his quote, but not the name):
Quote:
There are three kinds of death. There's heart death, there's brain death, and then there's being off the network.

I use the internet alot, especially with all the free pr0n there for downloading . But I don't feel down about anything when I can't get in front of a computer. When the Lakers are on tv, for example, I barely notice my comp. I use the internet because there are a lot of fun things to do on it. I think the addiction part comes in for people who use it to socialize with other people. I will say that according to steam I play TF2 about 29 hours a week, and sometimes I'll play it for 8 hours at one sitting. It's definitely not healthy, but I do that maybe once a week at most. I don't feel any withdrawal from it though, just extremely tired

yes, but i've lied about worse things.
yes. I also use driving to escape, omg i'm addicted. I use a lot of things to escape

Conclusion, this guy is a jerk trying to use a get rich quick scheme. His work is retarded.

You could use any of these questions for ANY hobby. Why is he just targeting it at the internet. Everyone uses their hobby to 'escape' it doesn't make them an addict. Everyone over uses their hobby.....because it's enjoyable. Is that a crime?
he prolly has dialup so he cant do the good stuff over the internet like us.

More or less the same as Iced. I also jog and listen to music to temporarily escape from my problems... I must be addicted to them too.
