5.1 setup problem

Thread Starter
So I have the standard 5.1 logitech speakers and I seem to have problems getting sound out of all of them. I have it configured as 5.1 both in windows and the Realtek control center and when I run a test, I hear sound out of all 5 speakers just great. However, when I play music in iTunes or play a movie with media player I only get sound out of the front 2 speakers. What am I doing wrong? I'm new to this whole speaker thing lol and I just may be missing something stupid. (Very likely) Thanks in advance for any help.

Music is only in stereo sound. You'll have to find a way to upmix it to 5.1 if you want to hear sound from all of your speakers.

For Creative cards I know the option is called 'stereo surround' and it's found somewhere in the control panel, but I think Realtek calls it 'speaker fill'. If you see an option that sounds something like that in the Realtek control panel try that out.

If you have the x-540 logitech 5.1 like me, theres a button on the controller that says matrix that makes any 2.1 source into 5.1.
It's great .
