Can I hook up a 4 Pin CPU to my 8 Pin CPU on my mobo?

Well, I have motherboard that had a 24 pin ATX power, with 8 pin CPU power along with a molex connector for additional power, Well I am getting a Power supply, but the one I have chosen for my budget only has a 4 pin CPU connector, can I still connect it and power the mobo up?

If you want to mess it up sure. Buy a power supply off of tigerdirect they aren't that much. I got one with a 8 pin for about $45 or get an adapter

A lot of motherboards will work with only a 4 pin CPU power connector plugged into the board. The adapters are a good alternative if your motherboard doesn't want to run without all 8 pins connected. The molex connector on the board is for additional power for GPU's.

you can use the 4 pin no probs, the extra pins are just there to supply more juice for increased stability when overclocking

yep thanks.

My Motherboard is a Biostar, and many people say its not overclockable, but reading the manuals it has a over clocking engine so makes things easy to over clock yay!
