Read this article on 8500 memory. The reaper seems to be the better developed product but the Balistix OC's better with the Vdimm increased.

Option A:
Ideally I'd like to run 5:4 on a 450 bus @ 1125mhz with 4-4-4-12 timings so the ballistix would be the way to go there, but I'm not so sure I want to increase my Vdimm to 2.4v when I'll be running the computer 8+ hrs a day.

Option B:
If I go 1:1 both modules will do 900mhz at 4-4-4-12 easy so OCZ would be best.

Option C:
5:4 with 5-5-5-18 timings both do these so OCZ again is the best.

According to the article faster memory speed increases bandwidth more than timings do, but since I'm going to be using it for gaming I really don't think it's going to make a noticable difference if I'm running 1125mhz 5-5-5-18 2T or 900mhz 4-4-4-12 2T or 1125mhz 4-4-4-12 T2 so right now I'm leaning towards the OCZ.

What do you guys think?

PS. After reading all of the recent threads on the problems with the Ballistix and all the threads on how great Gskill is I'm thinking about going for the 2x2g kit from Gskill and running that at 4-4-4-12 1T 900mhz or 5-5-5-18 2T 1125MHZ (If I can reach that.) If anyone has this kit and is getting 1080mhz+
(5:6) please let me know.
