what I'm planning in a new build

current system in sig.

adding q6600, 780i or 790i mb and a 3rd 8800gtx also gskill 8gig ram quad channel kit and swordM case. Also a tri-sli capable PSU
Running vista/xp 64

any thoughts about what kind of performance increase I may see? I know that it will greatly extend the leagth and girth of my mighty e-tool but what about FPS in Crysis?

... you really don't even need 2 video cards as it is, nothing really uses that much power other than crysis... if it were me I would keep saving and wait for more efficient processors to come out because by the time applications are available that use up all 4 cores there will be new quads out that are faster and cheaper

I have 1 8800 GTS g92 oc'd and running highest settings on Crysis.. there really is no need

If you do build the new computer can you give me the old one. What I wouldn't do to have your current rig.

ok so I added the q6600, 8gigs of ram. held off on the 3rd 8800gtx my monitor only does 1080p res. I'm scoring ~13500 in 3dmark 06. this system is giving me decent performance in all the games I'm running.

without changing mother boards do you think this PC is just about maxed out?

Are you overclocking your Q6600? What are the individual 3DMark06 scores? I almost hit 15k with just a single 8800GTS 512MB, but my Q6600 was at 3.4GHz

No need to add new stuff. Just OCed your Q6600 a bit.
