I mistakenly bought a OEM dell computer(530s). My bios is locked obviously. I find out that my cpu e2140 overclocks very high from it's regular speed of 1.6ghz. I couldn't use my bios to overclock it so I tried to soft overclock the pc using all the programs I know about. I get my PLL(ICS9LP505-2HGLF) to find out that it isn't supported , and never will be. So my only options left are to replace my motherboard , or to flash my bios. Either way I lose my warranty , and don't really care about it now. So which should I do? If flash my bios , how do I do this? If get a knew motherboard , could you recommend one? Do you have any other options?
Sorry If I posted this in the wrong place I'm new here. Thank You

you cannot overclock an OEM computer and you will not be able to fit another mobo in there best bet is to just leave it alone. Or you could get case , mobo and powersupply but i bet you paid some good money to just use those drives, ram and processor. Dont flash bios it will void your warranty and then you have no other choise but to buy the case, powersupply and motherboard.

Oh Btw.. How do you mistakenly buy a OEM computer??

cant you get a hold of dell support and have them help you fix it. or if you still have a warranty, they will send a tech out to you house to fix it.

Yep

The only other option you have besides software (not a good idea) is a BSEL mod. This fools the mobo into thinking the rated FSB of the CPU is higher than it actually is. For example, that E2140 has a rated FSB of 800 and a FSB of 200. When you BSEL mod it to act like a CPU with a rated FSB of 1066 (FSB of 266) So, your CPU will run at 2128mhz.

Now, the best thing is to return or sell the Dell. The BSEL will obviously void all warranties. If you are interested, google it to learn more. GL
