Scariest game you've played? - Page 17

I must not get the whole scary thing of FEAR. It was actually a repetitive FPS, shooting the same types of guys over and over, with a few cut scenes of "spookiness". And to me, the "spookiness" was uninteresting and dull. You guys are afraid of a LITTLE GIRL?? Come on. For me it got to the point that when a cut scene came up I wanted to just skip through it. I absolutely hated The Grudge, too.

Anyway, I agree, Silent Hill and SH2 were pretty creepy. The voice acting and the dialogue was pretty pathetic though. Sometimes downright corny.

I have yet to find a game that truly is good and also "scary" for me. I've tried a few in my search. A lot of them were mentioned here.

I haven't tried Condemned. I'll have to see if I can get it.

Doom 3 sounds lame. I don't want to run around with just a flashlight. I got enough of that in other "horror" games.

I had hopes for Jericho, but some people say it's lame. Undying sounds good, but I worry about old graphics. I like Clive Barker, though.

I don't know. I'm a guy who's read dang near every Stephen King book right before bed since I was in 8th grade, and I'm an "old" man now. I've also loved horror flicks since about the same time. Maybe I've been calloused against such a game.

Crimson heads in Resident Evil for GC were scary as all hell. RE2 was pretty damn scary too, specially that damn robot thing.

When I was a kid, Hexen scared the Hell out of me! Really creepy game for a 10 year old.

Doom 3 is spooky, like Flatliner said:
Doom3, however, makes you want to run and keep on running. it gives you that "scared" feeling where you almost dont want to progress further.

Ravenholm in HL2 in the dark, alone in the house, headphones on, first time through the game: scariest **** in my life.

did you just rush through it? taking your time is best, you actually get to "see" all of the best/scariest stuff.

not so much the first part of ravenholm, but after you get out into the open city and the fast zombies are climbing around and popping up at you, then it gets pretty spooky.
