Scariest game you've played? - Page 6

The scariest game I have ever played has to be Thief back in the day (the undead city). Of course, it's not scary now, but at the time it was.

Half Life. When you turn the corner in the air duct and a strategically placed headcrab jumps at you for the first time. Startling, to say the least.

Ravenholm was seriously one of the best designed levels in the history of video gaming! I didn't find it scary so much, but it was just great!

I don't really play scary games, I've only played FEAR Combat, and have yet to play stalker, so I'm going to say the scariest game I've played is Tenchu DS, but that was more "its scary how awful this game is".

Silent Hill for the most ****ed up atmostphere that makes it torture to play. Seriously scary. I don't understand how anyone could, or would want to, play it alone in the dark.

System Shock 2 is pretty scary being all alone on the whole ship. Those midwives were one of the most creepy enemies in gaming.

FEAR and Doom3 scared me a little but they were cheap thrills and I got over it.

RE1, RE2 are pretty frightning at first but you get over it.

HL1, HL2, what are you guys talking about?!? That game isn't scary at all.

Id have to agree with silent hill. I havnt really played any of the sequels, but i was REALLY young when i played the first one and i was scared ****less. I was at my friends place, and we set an alarm for 1 o clock or so, so that we could play it heaps late (his mum wouldnt let us play it while she was awake, thats how young we were ) Anyway, we woke up and after getting my legs cut off by them babies a few times we both decided to go sleep....worst nights sleep ever!

For the newer FPS games, id say doom3 was the scariest, because of the constantly flickering lights, plus i have 5.1 headphones which add to the immersion.

Silent Hill for sure. The sequels weren't as great and I bet if ya play it now it loses so much cuz our eyes are used to the graphics of today but in its day Oh My God! Me and brother lpayed way back when and stayed up all night to get through it. Scared the hell outta both of us.

A lot of people say that about Silent Hill it's the one series I didn't pick up. Will be sure to get the next one with scantly clad zombie nurses
