Would a quad or a dual be better for sli?

e8400 will have a slight edge and sli due to the higher clock rates and two gfx cards.

When I had 3870 x-fire and e8400 @ 4.1ghz I noticed a jump and in framerates when playing crysis. It was about 7-8 fps higher than my q6600 at 3336MHZ with same settings.
