its because AMD doesnt use the FSB to talk to the ram, the ram and cpu communicate directly, so the ram speed is based off of the CPU speed instead of the FSB speed

Exactly. I've never owned a 939 board/chip but from what I udnerstand it's reported to you guys as 1:1, however as subtleknife pointed out, the memory is directly dependent on the CPU speed, not the reference clock ("FSB"). AM2 socket with DDR2 stopped using the incorrect 1:1, 1:2, etc terms and reports it as it's actually calculated, CPU/x. Maybe the newest version of CPU-Z now reports it to you 939 users that way too?
