PSU for 9800gx2

Well, im stepping up to a 9800gx2. All I have left is to send my card in and then get the gx2. I have even bought the necessary 6 to 8 pin connector to make my pc power and cooling 610w be able to run the card.

Then I read the following on the EVGA website.

Quote:
Important 9800GX2 Powersupply Notice

The following is a list of powers supplies which have been tested to work on GeForce 9800GX2. These powersupplies meet the requirements for power ratings, and have at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express power connectors. Please also note, that it is not recommended to use a 6pin to 8pin converter cable. The NVIDIA 9800GX2 requires one 8 pin connector, and one 6 pin connector.
anyone have issues with a converter cable?

well i went ahead and shipped out my 8800gts (bought a 8800gt to hold me over) and my 9800gx2 should be here in two weeks, tops. sucks that im shipping from va beach allll the way to CA. it wont even get there until next monday. so that puts my card at getting here... the next week + a few days. so over two weeks.

ill report back then if i have any problems using the 6 to 8pin converter cable. hopefully i wont. if anyone beats me to it and tries it out, lemme know how it goes!
