Upgrading to Q6600/g92 GTS/ Tuniq 120.. tonight..q's

Ok, as the header reads.. im staying with all my sig equip (680i a1) etc etc..
I am on the p28 BIOS.

I will be removing the cooler master eclipse / e6750 (going to a diff rig), 8800gt ssc.

Then i will be installed the above items (q6600,tuniq 120,8800gts g92).

Should i reformat ? Do i need to Bios update ?

My original plan was to not reformat at all.. just remove all nvidia drivers (Driver Cleaner etc etc).. reset my Bios to defaults.. clear the CMOS by hitting the power switch after power down..

Then install.. think this will be ok ?

Thanks in advance guys.

Just uninstall the GFX drivers before you do the swap, unless its been awhile since your last format.

I just put in two GTS and took out two GT. All I had to do was uninstall drivers and reinstall drivers (video card only) and it worked fine.

It has not been that long, also i just got sp1..

Would could be the worst that could happen ? I not worried about the GTS install.. just the processor.. i hope the Q6600 works perfect withouth a reformat.. i dont think i should have to format.

It'll be fine, unless Vista pulls a fast one tells you to reactivate because of a hardware change.

It happens.

on nvidia chipsets, i avoid flashing unless there is something wrong. I lost 3 680i's just from flashing getting fubar.

I did it the proper way too, doing it from a floppy.
